Albrecht
Birkenbuel, Inc. uses both Timberline Precision Estimating and Timberline
Gold Standard Accounting. In order to be considered for employment the estimator
or estimator trainee must be capable of the following:
- Experienced
estimator needs expert knowledge in the following areas:
- Reading
and interpreting of contract documents Ability to take off material
quantities from contract documents
- Ability
to assign costs to material, labor,
- Subcontractor
and equipment costs.
- Experienced
estimator needs solid computer knowledge: Microsoft Word and Excel
- Primavera,
Sure Trak or another computerized scheduling program.
- Estimator
needs solid knowledge of job cost tracking and the interpretation of
job costs with respect to cost to complete projections.
- Experienced
estimator need not know Timberline, however, knowledge of Timberline
will be a positive factor in consideration for hire. It will also affect
starting wage scale.
- Trainee
estimator must have a good working knowledge:
- Blue
print reading.
- Quantity
survey of materials taken off from blue prints.
- Computer
skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional skills
or skill level play an important part of consideration and starting
wage scales.
- Both
estimator and trainee must have a valid Washington State Drivers License,
in good standing, and be able to pass a drug screen.
